The Salvation Army

Volunteers are needed to support services at the ReCreate Cafe, our day center for those experiencing homelessness.

The Salvation Army is currently operating adjusted services outdoors, providing needed items to go and sharing up-to-date, healthcare guidelines and information with guests.

They ask that volunteers DO NOT participate if they are sick, display any symptoms of illness or have been around anyone who has.  Additionally, we ask that volunteers DO NOT participate if they are concerned for their own health or identify as being a high-risk population.

This includes:

- Older Adults

People who have serious chronic conditions like:

- Heart Disease
- Lung Disease
- Diabetes

While participating, volunteers must also to adhere to adopted CDC guidelines and directions that include:

- No direct contact with others during greetings and transactions
- Frequent handwashing and glove changing
- No congregating in groups

  • Prepare and serve coffee and snacks
  • Gather hygiene and clothing items from donation closet and deliver to guests outside
  • Clean and disinfect interior spaces and surfaces
